Jack Fawbert
Jack Fawbert is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sociology in the Department of Business and Applied Social Sciences at De Montfort University, Bedford. After completing a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Economics Jack went on to complete an MA in Sociology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methodology and a Cert. Ed. He has also successfully completed a Certificate in Industrial Relations and Trade Union Studies. Jack is currently writing up his PhD thesis on the semiotics of replica football shirt representations. He previously worked at Leeds Metropolitan University where he was course leader for sociology and at West Suffolk College for Anglia Polytechnic University. He has taught a range of courses in sociology over the years on social theory, stratification and social class, identities, crime, the philosophy of social science, popular culture, association football and research methods. His relevant interests lie in cultures of football fandom and the semiotics of replica football shirts.
